Textures {Adelaide Photographer}

1 Mar

Recently I purchased Jesh De Rox’s  Fine Art Textures and his Colour Shift Actions and have had loads of fun experimenting. I’ve learned a lot along the way, actually I don’t think you will never run out of options with his amazing actions! I highly recommend them and if you already have them I would love to hear how you like to use your JDR Actions and Textures. We could start a fan club?! haha Well I thought I’d share this photo from a recent wedding I photographed. This photo was taken in mind of creating it into a Fine Art Print. Using your imagination is one of your greatest tools of creative photography and sets you apart from all the rest. With that in mind no experimental photo is a waste of time because if you go and shoot it and it works…then it’s a success! if it doesn’t work out how you envisioned then maybe re-assess and try again?! The beauty of digital technology.

I always go and check out the location of my shoots before the day, especially weddings! around the same time of the day I will be taking the photos too. That way I can get a feel for it, conjure up some ideas and prepare! I noticed this spot, a toilet block of all things!! haha and could see that not only was it sheltered it had this textured rendered cream coloured wall. It caught my eye and I went with it…was just a hunch it could work.

So here’s the original: Looks boring as hey?! I cringe just looking at it but I really thought I could work it into something, so I cropped, added some textures, some actions, played with the opacity and adjustments and this is what I came up with:

And then in Black and White:What do you think? You like them? I had fun with it…I look forward to more experimenting but now to get back to some real work 😉
